These terms apply when you use neaturehikes.com ("Neature", "we"). By using the site, you agree to them.

Trail information is a guide, not a guarantee

We work hard to keep permit, pass, closure, and trail details accurate, and we show where each rule comes from. But rules, closures, and conditions change, sometimes without notice. Always confirm with the land manager before you go. Neature is not affiliated with any government agency or land manager.

Hiking has real risks, including weather, terrain, wildlife, and getting lost. You are responsible for your own safety, your gear, your route choices, and following the rules where you hike. Distances, elevations, difficulty, and "Ideal for" picks are estimates.

Alerts

Alerts are a free courtesy. We try to send them on time, but emails can be late, filtered as spam, or missed. Don't rely on an alert as your only reminder for a permit deadline.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure and give accurate information. We may suspend accounts that misuse the site.

Photos and reports you share

You keep ownership of photos and text you submit. By submitting them, you allow Neature to display, resize, and share them on the site and in Neature's own posts about the site, with credit where practical. Only submit photos you took or have the right to share. We may decline or remove any submission.

Fair use of the site

Don't misuse the site, for example by scraping it at scale, overloading it, submitting spam or false reports, or trying to access other people's accounts.

Donations

Neature is not a registered charity, so contributions are not tax-deductible. After the cost of running the site, donations go to the four causes described on our mission page, and we publish where funds go. Payments are processed by Stripe. If you were charged by mistake, email us within 30 days and we'll make it right. Monthly gifts can be cancelled anytime from the link on the mission page.

Our content

The site's design, text, and our photos belong to Neature. Map data is from OpenStreetMap contributors and is available under the Open Database License. Forecasts are from the National Weather Service.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, Neature is not liable for any loss or injury that comes from using the site or relying on its information.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and continued use means you accept the update.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
